{"id":1238,"date":"2022-02-08T12:15:03","date_gmt":"2022-02-08T12:15:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.northdalton.org\/?p=1238"},"modified":"2022-06-05T08:14:56","modified_gmt":"2022-06-05T07:14:56","slug":"a-weekend-of-wolds-history-in-north-dalton","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.northdalton.org\/?p=1238","title":{"rendered":"A weekend of Wolds History in North Dalton"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>A weekend of Wolds history in North Dalton: &nbsp;<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>26th and 27th March 2022<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong>Come time travelling from the Bronze Age to the swinging 1960s through a series of fascinating talks, displays and discussions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Discover the unusual window in All Saints church (made in the William Morris studios in Merton) and see how modern stained glass is made.&nbsp;<\/li><li>Take a trip around the Wolds in 20 objects drawn from the East Yorkshire Museums archive<\/li><li>Wonder at some of the archaeological treasures unearthed in the locality<\/li><li>Find out how to start researching your own family history<\/li><li>View an exhibition of local postcards, photos and stories about life in North Dalton<\/li><li>Share memories of how farming used to be \u2013 and what being young was like before mobile phones!<\/li><li>Stay for lunch \u2013 or join us for a real Yorkshire Sunday tea.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>We\u2019ll also be making history<\/strong>! As part of the weekend, we will be launching a <strong>time-capsule<\/strong> project &#8211; asking children and young people to identify objects that define life in the present day which will communicate with the residents of North Dalton 100 years in the future!
